Basic Approach to Environmental Management

SMAS upholds the vision of contributing to the development of the automotive society and the improvement of the global environment as part of its management philosophy. Guided by this vision, all officers and employees are committed to conducting environmentally responsible business activities on a daily basis.
Since January 2003, as a member of the Sumitomo Corporation Group, we have maintained integrated ISO 14001 environmental management system certification and continue to advance business operations with environmental considerations. As of September 2025, all 29 head offices and branches across Japan have obtained ISO 14001 certification.

SMAS carries out environmentally conscious business activities every day with the aim of helping to create a global environment in which future generations can live with peace of mind. To promote these initiatives at the operational level, EMS (Environmental Management System) Leaders are assigned to branch offices nationwide, ensuring that environmental efforts are firmly rooted in frontline activities.
