Commitment by Supervising Officer

Sustainability

We, SMAS, newly showed "Mobility Platformer for Sustainable Society" as what we should be in "SMAS Evolution 2023 ∞", the business plan for FY2023. We will make clear that we pursue the sustainable society through our business and implement the sustainanablity management of business.

In particular, we recognize that addressing climate change is the most important issue in the sustainablity management of business. We calculated and identified the amount of the greenhouse gas to reduce the amount of its emission.

As our efforts to reduce CO2 emission, specifically with respect to Scope 1 of CO2 emission in our business activities, we accelerate optimizing the size of company car fleet and its electrification to pursue 50% fleet electification by 2024 and full fleet electrification by 2030. We also proactively work on procurement of electric power by use of renewable energy.

We continue proposing our customers not only cars and fleet management but also fleet electrification proactively. We offer "EV One Stop Service" jointly with diverse partners of proprietary technology and contribute to solve the clients' challenges in their effort of fleet electrification, the pariticular challenges of electrification as procurement costs, charging facilities, use of renewable energy and so forth that the clients have not encountered before.

Furthermore, in car maintenance, we will proactively implement the initiatives of circular economy by promoting use of green parts, by reusing fuel cells removed from the EVs out of lease and by other things. We partner with our stakeholders for reduction of CO2 emission and pursue carbon neutrality by 2050.
