Action Plan for the Act on Promotion of Women's Participation and Advancement in the Workplace

1. Basic policy

Raise awareness of female employees and those in managerial positions and improve the workplace culture on a company-wide basis to ensure that women can continue to work at our company with high motivation and a rewarding sense of satisfaction, while at the same time finding, enlightening and training female candidates for managerial positions.

2. Period of the plan

April 1, 2016 to March 31, 2023

3. Our problems

  • Problem 1: Few female employees seek managerial positions, and women account for a very small portion of our managerial personnel.
  • Problem 2: Compared to male employees, the average number of years female employees work in management track positions is less than 70%.

4. Goals

  • Goal 1: Promote 1 or 2 women to managerial positions a year.
  • Goal 2: Increase the average number of years female employees work in management track positions to more than 70% compared to male employees.

5. Actions and implementation periods

  • Action 1: Improve the corporate culture and raise awareness regarding the promotion of women's participation and advancement in the workplace.
    From April 2016: Send messages on a continual basis to employees about the promotion of women's participation and advancement in the workplace.
    From July 2016: Hold seminars for those in managerial positions about the promotion of women's participation and advancement in the workplace.
  • Action 2: Provide rank-specific career training programs.
    (From November 2015: Conduct career training for employees in management track positions and young clerical workers.)
  • Action 3: Train female candidates for managerial positions.
    (From November 2015: Have female candidates for managerial positions participate in external seminars.)
  • Action 4: Recruit female candidates for managerial positions.
    From April 2016: Recruit female candidates for managerial positions from external human resource pools.
  • Action 5: Encourage female employees to switch from clerical positions to management track positions.
    From April 2017: Encourage female employees to switch from clerical positions to management track positions so that they can work in a broader range of fields.
